Adults in Longmont and North Boulder that are looking for a fresh approach to personal health and fitness will be excited to hear that Fitness For Living is expanding their popular Outdoor Fitness Boot Camps to their communities. Fitness For Living has operated camps in
South Boulder for 5 years and is looking forward to making its Boot Camps more accessible to their northern neighbors. The Grand Opening sessions at these new locations are slated for April 7 - May 12.
The company's Boot Camps are 5-week 16 session exercise-driven outdoor class series focused on fun, teamwork, and friendly competition. They are designed for a wide range of ability and fitness levels, from the meek and weak to the lean and mean. Campers inspire, support and cheer on each other, and it is group dynamics and friendships formed that make the camps so unique. "The Outdoor Boot Camp approach to fitness reconnects people with what they love about being healthy," comments Susan Jung, a camp participant. "There is just something satisfying about running around outside in the fresh air on a beautiful sunny morning, with the mountains in the background. Everyone is pushing his or her own physical limits, trying new moves, and inspiring each other."
Each day at Boot Camp is different and progresses in challenge and difficulty, driving participants closer to their fitness objectives. Activities may include running relay races, climbing stairs, traversing monkey bars, jumping rope, negotiating an obstacle course, bounding over cones, playing tag or power walking up a trail.
Fitness For Living's upcoming Outdoor Boot Camps in all three of its locations are April 7 - May 12 and May 12 - June 16. Both co-ed and women's-only camps are offered and meet on Monday, Wednesday and Friday at four different class times each day.
Cost is $195-$255 and includes before and after fitness assessments, body composition tests and nutritional guidance.
For those looking for a quickie taste of the Boot Camp experience, the company is offering free demonstration classes on April 1 at 6:10 a.m., 9:00 a.m. (women's-only) and 5:30 p.m..
