Area turners, experienced and inexperienced, are invited to make gifts this Saturday, November 11, for deployed military.
Thousands of currently deployed military will receive Freedom Pens from customers of Woodcraft stores across the nation. Anyone desiring to make a handcrafted pen for members of our military is welcome to come to a Woodcraft store, between 9:00 and 5:00, this Saturday to turn a pen on a lathe. All materials will be supplied including pen blanks, pen kits, and lathes. Woodcraft will have "expert" pen turners on hand if help is needed. Beginners and children are welcome. A personal note may be included with your Freedom Pen, if desired.
The Woodcraft stores in Denver and Loveland have added something special this year. All pens made at these two locations will be given to a deployed member of the Colorado Guard serving in Iraq. Two of the units receiving pens are the 169 th Fires Brigade and 135 th Aviation Battalion, both from Aurora.
The Denver Woodcraft is located at 4403 S. Tamarac. The recently opened store in Loveland is at 3718 Draft Horse Drive.
Come on out and turn a Freedom Pen for those fighting to protect all of us.
