Dr. and Mrs. Harry H. Russell III of Denver, Colorado and Venice, Florida are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Valerie Lynne, to Damon Groves, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Alan T. Groves of Evergreen, Colorado.

Valerie and Damon, residents of Longmont, are both graduates of Evergreen High School. The bride-to-be received a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering from the University of Colorado at Boulder, and is currently employed by NanoProducts Corporation in Longmont. The groom-to-be is also a graduate of the University of Colorado with a bachelor's degree in music. He is employed at McGuckin Hardware in Boulder, and is planning to pursue further education in piano technology.

A May or June wedding is planned.
