A 19-year-old Longmont man was arrested at 1:15 a.m. March 17 on the 1400 block of Northwestern Road on suspicion of tampering, second-degree assault, possession of a firearm while under the influence and underage possession of alcohol. Officers responded to a call of someone being shot. When they arrived, the man told them that him and three friends had been drinking and someone got shot. The victim of the shooting identified the man who allegedly shot him and told officers that it was an accident. The victim explained to police that they had been drinking and were in the man's bedroom. The victim took his gun and put it on the nightstand when the man picked up the gun and cocked it, forcing it to go off and hitting the man in the leg. The man was held at the Boulder County Jail.
A 28-year-old Longmont man was arrested at 4:33 p.m. March 18 on the 1800 block of Mt. Sneffels Street on suspicion of driving while license under restraint, driving an unsafe vehicle and on a failure to appear warrant. An officer standing on the corner of Mt. Sneffels and Shavano streets saw a car pass by him with two temporary spare tires and one flat tire. The man driving the car parked it on the street and went into a house on the block. When officers went to the door, the man told him he was just moving his girlfriend's car that had a flat tire, but admitted that he didn't have a license. When the officer checked the man's name in his database, he found that he had a failure to appear warrant. He was held at the Boulder County Jail.
A 41-year-old Longmont woman was arrested at 7:05 p.m. March 17 at the K-Mart at 2151 Main St. on suspicion of resisting arrest, criminal mischief and disorderly conduct. Officers responded to a call of a woman at the store shouting profanities at passers-by in the parking lot. When contacted, the woman told officers that she had fallen and broke her tooth while drunk. The officers arrested her and put her in the back of the police car, where she continued to yell and started to kick the windows of the vehicle. The officer was going to transport her to the alcohol recovery center, but she continued to kick the windows and threaten the officer after being asked to stop. The officer took the woman to the Boulder County Jail, where she attempted to escape on foot, but was restrained.
A 28-year-old Longmont woman was arrested at 1:53 a.m. March 16 at the intersection of Tulip Street and Warren Avenue on suspicion of driving under the influence. An officer reported to a domestic call at a house near the intersection. When they arrived, a friend of the woman's told officer that she and the woman had been out drinking and came back to the residence, where the woman wanted to continue drinking. The friend told the woman that she had drank enough. The woman became angry, attempting to leave with her son, but the friend, fearing for the child's safety, dissuaded her from taking him. Officers conducted a search for the woman and contacted her. She failed roadside maneuvers and told officers that her son had been kidnapped. Officers arranged for the woman's father to come and get the child from the friend's house. The woman also threatened officers, telling them, "You ain't seen nothing yet. I am a (expletive)."
A 23-year-old Longmont man was arrested at 2:30 a.m. March 15 on the 0-99 block of Ash Court on suspicion of criminal mischief. Officers responded to a report of a fight at the residence. While there, the owner of the house told police that "kids," who fled the scene, had vandalized his home. A woman at the residence told police that the man had entered the house screaming for help. The man then reportedly ran into the bathroom, breaking a window and running out. Police later caught the man on the street. He was held at the Boulder County Jail.
