Boy arrested for maceing in park
A 15-year-old Longmont boy was arrested at 10:20 p.m. April 13 at the Longmont Police Station, 225 Kimbark St., on suspicion of felony menacing, harassment, disorderly conduct, third-degree assault and driving without a driver's license. The incident allegedly occurred at 5:40 p.m. April 6. Officers were dispatched April 6 to Hover Park, 1400 Charles Drive, on a report of someone being maced. The victim told officers that he and his friends were playing basketball when the boy came up to them and said "Silver Creek High School is a bunch of (expletives)." He said that the boy then started to shove the players and maced him. The boy went back to his car and got a tire iron out, but was dragged back to the car by his friends and left. After discovering the identity of the boy, officers contacted the boy, who came to the police station with his mother. The boy told officers that as he was walking by the victim in the park, they called him a "beaner." The boy also told police he maced the victim in self-defense. Held at the county juvenile detention facility.
Boy arrested for breaking into barn
A 16- year-old Longmont boy was arrested at 5:32 p.m. April 16 at the Longmont Police Department, 225 Kimbark St., on suspicion of a criminal trespass and obstruction of a police officer that took place on April 15 on the 800 block of Tanager Circle. Officers were called to a trespassing in progress at a barn. When they arrived, they saw four kids trying to leave the scene on their BMX bikes. Officers gave chase, lost them and then eventually found three of the four boys by searching the area. A woman on the scene said that she recognized the boys from the school where she teaches. The boy eventually turned himself in with his mother.
Man arrested for domestic violenceA 27-year-old Longmont man was arrested at 12:13 a.m. April 15 at the intersection of 15
th Avenue and Twin Sisters Drive on suspicion of first-degree burglary, second-degree assault and child abuse. Officers were dispatched to a residence, where a woman told police that she had an argument with the man about their kids' daycare arrangements. After the argument, the man came back to the residence, pounding on the door. The woman told police that when she opened the door, he pushed his way in, pushing her to the ground, choking her and punching her in the face. Officers contacted the man, who was uncooperative during his arrest. The man also told officers that the woman had pulled a knife on her. He was held at the Boulder County Jail.
Man buys kids beer, is arrestedA 46-year-old Longmont man was arrested at 11:35 p.m. April 14 on the 1300 block of Sharpe Place on suspicion of contributing to the delinquency of a minor. Officers were called to the house on an anonymous tip about a man carrying two cases of beer into a house full of underage people. When the officer arrived, he looked in the windows and saw empty beer bottles all over the living room. He also saw a young man walk out, see the officer and walk back out of sight. Eventually the man came out to talk with the officer, accompanied by a woman who burped and told the cop, "It's my birthday. I'm 21." The officer congratulated the woman and asked about underage drinkers in the house. The man and woman told the officer that there weren't any underage drinkers in the house but the officers searched the house and found four people who were younger than 21 who admitted to drinking. The man was arrested and released on a felony summons.
Man holds knife to another man's throatA 42-year-old Longmont man was arrested at 1:18 a.m. April 15 on the 1000 block of Ponderosa Circle on suspicion of felony menacing and harassment. Officers were called to a fight at a residence. The homeowner told police him and some friends had been drinking when the man said something about guns and hand-to-hand combat. The man then held a knife to another man's throat. The man later told police that he didn't do anything and that he was, in fact, assaulted.
