Blotter: Hotel called a 'dump' because of spoons

A 27-year-old Boulder woman was arrested at 9:43 p.m. April 25 on the 1400 block of Dry Creek Drive on suspicion of possession of cocaine with intent to distribute and possession of drug paraphernalia. Officers were dispatched to a hotel on a narcotics complaint. When they arrived, the manager of the complex told them a female came to the front desk, asking for "good spoons" and acting strangely. When officers contacted the woman in her room, she told them she needed the spoons for her companion's medication. She also called the hotel a "dump" because they only had plastic spoons. Officers searched the room and found a sex toy, a pipe and 50 grams of cocaine. The woman was held at the Boulder County Jail.

A 25-year-old Longmont woman was arrested at 1:42 a.m. April 26 at the intersection of 17 th Avenue and Terry Street on suspicion of driving under the influence. An officer witnessed the woman bring her car to a stop at the intersection of 17 th Avenue and Gay Street, where lights were flashing yellow. She sat there for approximately 30 seconds and then drove off, swerving in and out of the lane. When the officer stopped her, the woman said the passenger had been grabbing the steering wheel, but she later started yelling at the officer and admitted to drinking. During roadside maneuvers, she kept screaming that she was asleep. She was held at the Boulder County Jail.

A 26-year-old Longmont man was arrested at 3:40 p.m. April 25 at the intersection of Grand Avenue and Main Street on suspicion of an identity theft that occurred on March 21. The victim contacted police and told them that his credit card had been used at the Longmont Target, 551 Hover St., and the Boulder Target, 2800 Pearl St., where $600 of fraudulent charges had been put on it. The officer received the tape and showed it to the victim, who said that re recognized the man as his next-door neighbor. When contacted, the man told police the victim had given him permission to use the card as payment for some work he had done. He also said the victim had driven him to the Target on two occasions to use the card. On April 25, officers stopped the man for driving without a license and found a stack of credit cards in the man's vehicle, including the victim's card. He was held at the Boulder County Jail.

A 23-year-old Berthoud woman was arrested at 4:58 p.m. April 25 on the 1200 block of Francis Avenue on suspicion of third-degree assault, harassment and domestic violence. Officers were dispatched to an apartment. The man who answered the door told officers that he was alone in the residence and had received his obvious injuries earlier in the day. Later the man told officers that the woman was in the apartment and had attacked him. The woman told officers that she injured the man because she was frustrated that he made her feel worthless. She was held at the Boulder County Jail.

A 35-year-old Longmont man was arrested at 5:49 p.m. April 25 in Longmont on suspicion of child abuse, manufacturing marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. The man's 13-year-old daughter told her school councilor and an officer that her parents had been smoking marijuana for a few months and that they were growing it in their bedroom closet. Officers received a search warrant to search the man's house. While they had the man under surveillance, they pulled him over and arrested him, executing the search warrant while he was in custody. The house was in shambles, with dirt and mold everywhere. They also found six pots inside the bedroom with growing marijuana plants instructions for growing it and other various paraphernalia. He was held at the Boulder County Jail.
