Man tries to hop fence, fails
A 27-year old Longmont man was arrested at 7:29 p.m. May 17 on the 100-200 block of E. 15th Avenue for evading police. When police responded to a call of a fight, they found a bloody man with scratches over his body. The man took off running when he spotted police. The man ran into a back yard and hopped onto a couch against a fence. Police caught the man dangling halfway over the fence. An officer grabbed the suspect and his body went limp. If the officer hadn't been holding him, he would have fallen face first in the ground. When officers questioned the man, he said he was just playing around and that he ran because he was scared. He was held at the Boulder County Jail.

A 30-year-old Indiana man was arrested at 12:50 p.m. May 18 on the 1600 block of Kimbark Street on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol. The man left the Group Therapy Bar and Grill with his car alarm going off. When the officers asked if he was OK to drive home, the man said, "Not really. You wanna give me a ride?" The man failed a rode side test and was taken to the Longmont Police Department.
15-year old drinks, drives, asks for mom
A 15-year-old Longmont boy was arrested at 7:54 p.m. May 16 at Ashford Circle and Alpine Street for driving without a valid driver's license and suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol. Officers responded after several people reported reckless driving in the area. Witnesses said the boy hit some bushes at a round-about. The boy originally said he would do voluntary roadside test, but then said he wouldn't comply until he talked to his mom. An officer told the boy that in traffic incidences, minors are treated as adults and the boy didn't have the option to talk to his mom at that point. After talking to him mom later at the Longmont Police Department, the boy agreed to take a Breathalyzer test. He blew more than the legal limit and was charged with driving under the influence and driving without a valid driver's license.
Man stops for hamburger, gets arrested
A 42-year-old Longmont man was arrested at 11:38 p.m. May 15 at the McDonald's drive thru at 245 S. Main St. on suspicion of driving under the influence. After failing a roadside test, the man was taken to the Longmont Police Department. After agreeing to a Breathalyzer test, the man acted like he was blowing into the apparatus, but wasn't. His face turned red, but no air came out. After six tries, officers told the man he had refused the test because he was faking it and officers couldn't get a reading.
Car passenger caught for failing to appear 12 times
A 39-year-old Brighton man was arrested at 11:19 p.m. May 17 at 17th Avenue and Alpine Street when the car he was riding in was pulled over for a lane use violation. The driver was cited for the violation and driving without a valid driver's license. When officers asked the passenger his name, they found out he had an outstanding arrest warrant. The man was taken to the Longmont Police Department, but was later taken to the Boulder County Jail because he had failed to appear in court 12 times prior to his arrest.
