The Times-Call has put together a rather nifty Google map showing
reported crimes in our fair city
.
It looks like they've been doing this for at least a few weeks, but recently updated their flags to better represent the type of incident. It's a little claustrophobic - the map can't be resized that I could find. Still, not a bad effort by our paper of record.

While you can't make the map bigger (more of your screen) you can click on the + or - to zoom in or out (at the link, not on the picture above). You can also sort by the categories below the map. If they can make it real-time, it'll be just like SimCity. Good info.
