MAN OFFERS WITNESS $100 TO HELP HIM
A 34-year-old Longmont man was arrested at 9:33 p.m. March 21 on the 00-99 block of East 17th Avenue on suspicion of DUI-related counts, careless driving, leaving an accident scene and driving with a revoked license. A witness at a house near where the accident occurred said the driver came to his house and asked the witness to take him home without calling the police in exchange for $100. The witness said the driver was obviously intoxicated and tried to get in another truck parked in his driveway. It is unclear what the driver hit from the police report, but he told police the accident wasn't his fault. He said, "I was just driving and it just happened. I don't know what happened." The man said he had "too many DUIs." He was taken to the Longmont Police Department and blew a .198 on a Breathalyzer test. He was taken to Boulder County Jail.
