The Longmont Police Department with the assistance of Investigators from the Colorado State Patrol Investigative Services Section (CSP ISS) and the Boulder County District Attorney's office developed leads in the death of
Logan Sisson that occurred on April 20, 2009.
LPD Detectives discovered that
Mariena Harris and
Lakesha Crutcher were involved in a physical fight with Sisson near the pavilion in the park. The three moved over toward 19th Street near Wittmer's vehicle. It was there that Sisson was stabbed. Detectives located the suspect vehicle on the afternoon of 04-21-09 and it was being driven by Wittmer. It was seized as evidence.
The investigation found that the suspects had all been at a party in the 1900 block of Meadow Drive.
It may have been related to the "4-20" activities that occur on April 20. The host of the party denies that any party occurred at their home.
This incident was not gang related. The victim and suspects knew each other.
Detectives completed search warrant for Harris' and Wittmer's homes at 12:44 a.m. on April 22.
Evidence was recovered from both homes.
Small home made explosive devices were found in Wittmer's at 1636 Mt. Evans. The Bomb Squad was called in to process those devices. That operation ended at 4:30 a.m. hours this morning.
Harris and Crutcher were arrested for second degree murder. Wittmer has been charged with accessory to second degree murder. As part of this investigation

Alex was arrested for a burglary that occurred prior to the homicide at 1236 ½ Main Street. Guerra was not involved or present during the homicide.
Additional charges related to the explosives are expected. The investigation continues.
