LONGMONT POLICE
COLOGNE PEDDLER CITED FOR TRESPASSING
A 23-year-old Denver man was cited for trespassing at a mall May 24 after he allegedly attempted to sell cologne and perfume on the premises. Security guards at the Twin Peaks Mall, 1250 S. Hover Road, told the man and two of his cohorts to leave the area at 12:21 p.m., but the cologne sellers refused. Two of the men ran away after the guards called police, but the 23-year-old was detained after a brief struggle. Police later found 17 bottles of perfume on the man.
TEENAGER BUSTED FOR DUI
A 15-year-old Longmont boy was taken into custody May 24 after he allegedly wrecked a car while driving drunk.Officers were dispatched at 4:31 p.m. to the area of Ninth Avenue and Lashley Street on a report of several males fighting in a front yard, one of whom was reportedly carrying a brick. When officers arrived, they found the 15-year-old sitting on the hood of a car with visible damage likely caused by an accident. The teen, who appeared intoxicated, told officers he had been rear ended by another vehcile and later got into a physical altercation with his father when he returned home. Police took the teen into custody on suspicion of driving under the influence and driving without a license. The teen's father, whose face was bloody, was taken to a nearby hospital for minor injuries.
DRUNKEN MAN ARRESTED FOR ASSAULT
A 37-year-old Longmont man was arrested May 25 after he allegedly assaulted a woman at his home. Police were dispatched at 2:32 a.m. to the 1700 block of Duchess Drive on a report of a domestic violence incident. Officers found the man running down the block wearing only a pair of shorts. An investigation revealed the man was drunk and refused to let two women leave his house. The man allegedly shoved his forearm into the throat of one of the women, which left visible bruising. He was transferred to jail.
WIFE STABS HUSBAND DURING FIGHT
An 18-year-old Longmont woman is facing charges of second-degree assault, menacing and domestic violence after she allegedly stabbed her husband in the throat. Officers were dispatched at 2:30 a.m. May 14 to a house on the 800 block of Independence Road on a report of a domestic violence situation. A man at the house came stumbling out and told officers, "She stabbed me. I'm okay." An investigation revealed the couple was drinking that evening and began fighting. The argument escalated and turned physical. The woman allegedly began slapping her husband and later picked up a knife, telling him she was going to cut him up. The man stated he made a fake 911 call to calm her down, which initially worked, but the two began arguing again and the woman picked up a pair of scissors and stabbed him twice in the throat. The cuts were minor and the man was later treated at a hospital. His better half was transferred to jail.
