Woman steals $6,624.75 worth of coffee, wired
A 37-year-old Longmont woman was arrested at 12:03 p.m. June 12 on the 1200 block of Francis Street on suspicion of theft. Police responded June 8 to the Brewing Market coffee shop, 1520 S Hover Road. The owner said the suspect had been hired in April 2008 and had been stealing coffee from day one. The owner recorded a conversation with her where she said she gave her husband two cups of coffee every morning and took at least four large mocha coffees every afternoon. On her one day off a week she would take at least one cup of coffee. The owner said all the employees knew about company policy, which was that employees could drink coffee for free while at work, but couldn't give coffee for free to relatives and friends. When employees weren't working, coffee was 50 percent off. The owner calculated the woman took $6,624.75 worth of mochas over the span of her employment. Another employee corroborated this report. She was terminated and the owner decided to press charges to send a message to other employees. Police contacted her at her residence. The woman said the owner and her had an agreement that she could take coffee with her because she didn't drink it during her shift. As she was taken into custody, her husband threatened to sue. In the police car, she said, "There are other people that steal at the store, as well, so why doesn't (the owner) go after them?" The officer asked if she just admitted to stealing the coffee. She then denied it. She was taken to Boulder County Jail.

Just hit me officer

The man was contacted because he was playing music in his car too loud. The man appeared intoxicated and he told police he drank one 40 ounce of beer. The man was unsteady on his feet and failed a roadside sobriety test. The officer asked what type of chemical test he wanted to take and the man responded, "Go ahead and hit me. I know you want to." The officer said he didn't want to hit the man and asked again what type of test he wanted to take. The man kept telling the officer to hit him. He was taken to Boulder County Jail.

Not blood, jut spaghetti sauce
A 43-year-old Broomfield man was arrested at 7:46 p.m. June 12 on the 1000 block of Alta Street on suspicion of domestic violence and third-degree assault. A neighbor called police when she heard arguing and saw the 43-year-old man head-butt his wife. When officers responded, the couple said they had an argument, but it wasn't physical. They are in the process of separating and were arguing about custody of the dog and the fact that the man brought his 18-year-old girlfriend on his wife's parent's property. The husband had what looked like blood on his clothes, but he said it was spaghetti sauce. It wasn't until the husband was taken out front that the wife said he head-butted her twice. She did not want him to go to jail or press charges. He was taken to Boulder County Jail.
