Man says he's a cop killer
A 43-year-old Longmont man was arrested June 27 after trying to break into his father's apartment to retrieve his belongings. The father told his son he could only retrieve his belongings if he was escorted by police. The son was located at the intersection of 21st Avenue and Collyer Street and arrested on suspicion of second-degree criminal trespassing, possessing drug paraphernalia and an outstanding warrant. While in the patrol car, the man said he had a loaded gun and was a cop killer. The man was taken to Boulder County Jail.

Man drinks, causes three-car accident
A 43-year-old Denver man was issued a summons at 5:27 p.m. June 26 on suspicion of causing a three-car accident while under the influence. Police were dispatched to the 1500 block of Main Street after the man rear ended the car in front of him, which in turn rear ended the car in front of it. The man's license had been revoked because of a previous drinking-and-driving incident. After failing a sobriety test, the man was issued a summons on suspicion of careless driving, driving while ability impaired and failure to provide proof of insurance.

Don't let the door hit you on the way out
A 20-year-old Longmont man was arrested at 11:21 p.m. June 28 on the 1900 block of Terry Street after an anonymous person reported a man screaming at a female in the apartment. The man told police he had a couple of beers and he and his wife got into an argument. When the babysitter and wife were questioned, they said the man threw his wallet at his wife, which didn't hit her. When the man left after the argument, his wife locked the door behind him, so the man kicked the door in. He once again was leaving when the door hit him in the face giving him a bloody nose. The man was arrested on suspicion of domestic violence, harassment and an outstanding warrant.

Woman caught again in check scheme
A 47-year-old Longmont woman was arrested for a second time on suspicion of theft. The woman turned herself into police at 9:10 a.m. June 24 after she allegedly cashed her paycheck then reported it lost. The woman deposited a paycheck in the amount of $1,046.19 and then later reported it lost/stolen. She received another paycheck from her employer and cashed it. The woman was previously arrested on March 19 for passing bad checks after closing her bank account. She previously had written bad checks totaling $7,466.82.

Man douses mattresses in gasoline
A 46-year-old Longmont man was arrested at approximately 1:31 p.m. June 29 on suspicion of domestic violence, criminal mischief, false imprisonment and violating a protection order after he allegedly doused mattresses in gasoline on the 1300 block of Trout Creek Place. The man and his stepdaughter, whom he lived with, got into an argument the day before. She was in the process of moving out of the house, but left some mattresses and bedding behind in the driveway to pick up later. When she returned she said she smelled gasoline and the mattresses were drenched. The man said his stepdaughter had hit him and he was upset. The neighbor's house was close enough to be in danger if the mattresses had been ignited. The Longmont Fire Department also responded. The man was taken to Boulder County Jail.
