Man gets long rap sheet in unrelated burglaries
A 28-year-old Boulder County man was arrested on suspicion of three burglaries. The man was initially arrested at 10:17 a.m. July 21 on the 12002 block of Vermillion Road. A residence on the 4500 block of Redmond Drive was burglarized and the reporting party said the 28-year-old man was seen with her things, including jewelry and a laptop. Police were dispatched to the man's mother's house and searched the man's room. Along with the missing items, police found credit cards with a different woman's name on them. The man said he found the credit cards and was holding onto them in hopes there would be a reward offered, but when police called the card's owner, the woman said her purse was stolen from her garage. In a third case, the man's ex-girlfriend reported the man stole cash and credit cards from her vehicle on the 1100 block of Fall River Circle. The man was caught on surveillance tape using the cards at McDonald's and 7-Eleven. In all, the man was arrested on suspicion on two counts of theft, two counts of second-degree burglary, criminal possession of more than two stolen financial devices, unauthorized use of a financial device, criminal impersonation, first-degree trespass on a vehicle, theft, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a scheduled-two controlled substance.
Brothers go to jail
Two brothers were arrested at approximately 9:17 p.m. July 21 on suspicion of narcotics sales. An officer recognized one of the brothers, who had a warrant out for his arrest, parked in his vehicle on the 500 block of Sixth Avenue. His brother, who was with him, also had a warrant out for his arrest. The older brother, a 28-year-old Longmont man, told police they would Vicodin if they searched his car, but none was found. When police searched his 19-year-old Longmont brother, he had painkillers, which he didn't have a prescription for. The 28-year-old had a warrant out for his arrest on suspicion of organized crime and the 19-year-old was arrested on suspicion of distributing a schedule-one controlled substance and possession of less than 1 gram of a scheduled-three controlled substance. Both were taken to Boulder County Jail.
Woman awakened to find man with filet knife over her
A 45-year-old Longmont man was arrested after threatening a woman with a filet knife. Police were dispatched at approximately 2:04 p.m. July 20 to the 1200 block of Fall River Circle on a domestic violence call. The reporting party said she had a protection order against the man, but she let him watch her kids anyway. When the woman returned from work, she asked the man to leave. When he wouldn't leave, she went to bed. She awoke to find him standing over her in bed holding a filet knife and pounding his chest. The man, who had been drinking, said he wanted to kill himself and the woman was afraid he was going to kill her as well. She was able to call 911 and the man fled. Police waited until the man called the woman, who was prompted by police to say they left. When the man returned, he was arrested on suspicion of domestic violence, menacing with a real/perceived-real deadly weapon and harassment. The man was taken to Boulder County Jail.
Man abandons car in the middle of the road, arrested for drugs
A 20-year-old Longmont man was arrested after a car he abandoned in the middle of the road reportedly contained drugs. Police were dispatched at 1:18 p.m. July 22 to an abandoned car at the intersection of 23rd Avenue and Emery Street. Visible in the car was a marijuana pipe and a bag of white pills. Police called the car's owner, who said her son had the car and gave police his number. When police asked the man about any other narcotics, he said he had done heroin the day before. He was arrested on suspicion of two counts of possessing a scheduled-two controlled substance and possessing drug paraphernalia.
