28 Years, Two Recessions, Still Going Strong

Mike O'Shay's Restaurant and Ale House marks 28 years as a staple of Longmont

Denver, CO - October 13, 2009 - Restaurants come and go in any town, but there is nothing like going to a place where the faces are familiar and great food is consistent. Storming through its second recession since opening, Mike O'Shay's Restaurant and Ale House is that place. Next week, the restaurant will be celebrating 28 years of business with a week of fresh seafood specials, free beer goblets and a celebration complete with beer tastings and giveaways.

The restaurant's 28th anniversary week, Oct. 19-23, will focus on Mike Shea's background on the east coast, featuring several fresh seafood specials all week long. Tuesday, Colorado brewery, New Belgium, will give away free New Belgium glass goblets with the purchase of one of their three beers on tap. The week will culminate with a big 28th anniversary celebration on Friday night. The party will feature tastings of the new beer on tap, New Belgium's 1554, and a raffle giving away a Fat Tire bike as well as Mike O'Shay's merchandise.

Mike O'Shay's has survived 28 years by offering local fresh ingredients, house made desserts and a menu that changes every six months to keep up with the changing tastes and trends. Aside from the food, O'Shay's is known for the familiar faces of the staff, some of which whom have been here since the beginning.

"Fortunately, right from the beginning, the Longmont community has been very supportive of Mike O'Shay's," said Mike Shea, owner of Mike O'Shay's Restaurant and Ale House. "In turn we like to give back by contributing to nonprofits and needy organizations, and by supporting many local businesses."
