Gilberto's Gourmet Goodness Opens New Commissary Kitchen in Fort Collins
FORT COLLINS, CO - The onslaught of local foods companies and manufacturers has propelled Gilberto's Gourmet Goodness co-founders Danielle Gilbert Iglehart and her husband Jay to team up with family to open Brown Dog Family Kitchen, located at 3512 S. Mason Street in Fort Collins, a commissary kitchen open for foods companies to achieve their dreams without the financial strain of purchasing the thousands of dollars of equipment needed to make it happen.
Within the walls of this red brick building, Brown Dog Family Kitchen houses two 40 gallon Groen kettles, a double oven with a ten burner gas range, custom-made filler, labeler, prep kitchen, assembly line, walk-in coolers, and storage space-a perfect spot for caterers, bakers, sauce manufacturers, and the like. The family team of like-minded entrepreneurs is opening their doors to renters who want to take advantage of this space, as ideal resources such as these are sought-after but sadly, very rare.
Brown Dog Family Kitchen has been named in honor of and dedicated to the family members more often left out of big business decisions, Jay and Danielle's Chesapeake Bay retriever Charlie, and family business partners Matt and Krysta Roberts' chocolate lab, Grizmond. While dogs aren't allowed in the kitchen, they make for great mascots and bring a smile to the faces of everyone who learns the legend of BDFK. The dogs have certainly enjoyed Danielle and Krysta's freshly baked treats over the years!
