The combined KYGO and
FOX 31 Gulf Coast Relief Campaign for the Red Cross has added a new wrinkle.
Kelly Ford will broadcast live this Friday morning from 6:00 to noon at FOX 31
to provide what the Red Cross needs most... money. To help raise funds, donors
will receive Mardi Gras style beads to help remember those effected in the
bayou.
Katrina continues to be devastating to the Gulf Coast,
prompting the Red Cross to set a $130 million fund raising goal nationwide.
Robert Thompson of the Red Cross here in Colorado confirms that there are enough
volunteers and supplies cannot be shipped, but that hitting the fundraising goal
is key.
The Red Cross will be on site this Friday at this combined
KYGO and Fox 31 event to collect donations from Denver residents who care. The
beads are sponsored by Jefferson-Pilot Communications, the parent company of
KYGO.
Beads will also be available for donations at the KYGO Stage at
the Taste of Colorado this weekend at Civic Center Park in downtown Denver.
