When the Truth Is No Longer Respected

When passion overpowers and subjugates reason, when self replaces relationship, when control is asked of others but not of one's self, and finally when truth is no longer a guiding light but is defined to be any and all arguments that further one's agenda -- then we have arrived at the gates of hell.

It is at times like this that the clarion trumpets of the angels cannot be heard because of the cacophony and screams of "ME. ME. ME! I know, I am, I have names for you, you are the devil, you are the socialist, you are the Stalinist, you are the right wing, you are liberals, you are liars."

At some point it is only those that scream the loudest that appear to be the ones of the truth. Those who are of vision and truly see retire from the fray because they realize that arguing with fools will only make one look foolish and ultimately is a waste of time.

These are facts:

1. A double sided full color mailer filled with half truths, out of context statements and lies was sent out unfairly and untruthfully attacking Richard Juday. This was mailed by a tax-exempt organization with no requirements to disclose who financed it or how much it cost. The hit was put onto Richard Juday and Jen Gartner. Richard because he is running for office against Gabe Santos. Jen Gartner because she was the leader of the repeal of Union Annexation petition. This mailer was sent to those who are registered Republicans to motivate them to vote - a conditioned response.

2. Coordinated with the hit piece mailer were web sites using the mailer as grist for postings. No substantiation - if it was mailed it must be true. Similar and coordinated talking point language shows up all over the web.

3. A $5,000 contribution is made to Gabe Santos by the Longmont Association of Realtors. The money comes from a Denver address. This amount is larger than the total amount raised by two of the candidates combined. LAR asked one of the candidates to quite the race.

4. These kinds of politics show up after Gabe Santos comes to town and runs for office. Gabe Santos was on the payroll for Tom Delay (The Hammer). The above tactics are exactly the kinds used by Tom Delay.

My article - this present article will cause a howl. There will be more postings to swamp out the truth.

This is my truth!

What follows, I have said for at least the last 30 years. This I know is my truth!

People are the highest gifts in my existence. That includes those that howl and scream and mean me and those I love and respect harm. The value is in community. The value is in coming together. It does not have to be in agreement but it should be in the framework of truth and good faith. However even those that howl, I value and I DO NOT HATE!

You are irrelevant. You will grovel about the most insignificant things and mock things that really do matter.Your words speak for themselves. Body count isn't rising fast enough, real funny stuff. That's about all you do have to offer.

Bing - Ah, again with the "don't offer anything" and I think you said I was irrelevant before - hard to make that stick if you guys won't shut up about me. Hehe, at least you got the 'sir' part right. MALFEASANCE? Don't you have any new words? Haven't seen Haliburton lately, how about a little Abu Graib sprinkled in, nah wait, body count isn't rising as fast as you'd like, nevermind. You're such a predictable little whiner. - Doug, glad you're entertained, I also do a mean karaoke! Me and my sockpuppet are taking it on the road.

I have to say, this election has brought out the inner comedian in my fellow Longmonters! Rich, Chris, you two should go on the road - seriously. "Last Comic Ranting" would be a good tour title. Rich, the mispellings and grammar in your posts is inspired. Surely no one writes that way on purpose! LOL! Thanks for the laughs guy, you're just precious.

Thanks Chris for illustrating just how big a jerk you can be. This scanned image is probably not copyrighted material. Though I wouldn't put it past a Republican smear group to be so proud of their lies they would try to copy right them. You site a comment that doesn't appear here, which makes it irrelevant to the conversation here. And I tend to agree with the sentiment he gave you. You don't offer anything, nor does Stephanie or Richard but paranoia, mean spirited rhetoric and mock outrage at Democrats while ignoring worse malfeasance by Republicans you support. You sir are nothing more than a horses a$$. Civility doesn't work with you guys, you're too paranoid and too convinced you're right and everyone else is wrong.

This is just another example of a liberal and buddies sticking their noses into someone else's business and trying to regulate how their opponents run an election campaign. Recently Mr. Lesie has never been short on relative advise to give people who don't agree with him orders on how to behave correctly and his buddies think anyone who does not agree with messrs Lesie or Juday are of course mentally ill because liberals are truthfully infallible. Didn't President Putin's men tranqualize disidents who questioned his infallibility in handling of a martime accident? All this telling everyone what to think and do all the time is weary business for liberals. Telling 1/2 truths about people they say they do not hate must be tough work. Because people naturally resent demigods which comes with the infallibility turf they are fighting over. From the authors' complaints, Bouderizing is not the bed of roses the rocket scientist promised.

Hey Bing, noticed you didn't have anything to say about his 'scanned' and probably unauthorized copying of a paid piece of literature. Even gave it an opinionated caption, double whammy. Why arent you all over that? We know why don't we? Starts with an F, ends with a RAUD.

And I hear you outright lied about the connector street which LB supported having removed and they worked with Weld staff on that issue, any shred of truth in that? Sorry, based on your language and if even part of those actions are true, you need to re-evaluate that last barely coherent paragraph in your blog entry. And for the record, my website is mentioned in that ad, I didnt write that and it isnt and never was on my site. I thought this ad was someone "punking" others, didnt receive it, guess it's real though.

No, you're right Bing, his comment in my blog (which this is pretty much the same thing) "go back to the pits of hell that you came from", nah, that's not an insult or personal attack.-.-Duane, since our little exchanges I've gotten some random emails about you, tell me if any of this is right or wrong. If someone's going to spew hatred, then invite me for coffee, I think it's fair to ask...did you have to be escorted out of public meeting because you nearly HIT A WOMAN who disagreed with your point of view? Those neighbors you care about, did you sue them because you didn't like their HOA rules?

Is Farid Tabaz the real name of the person writing posts alleging racism? There is no racism and has never been racism in any of these controversies. I'm curious if this name is a pseudonym for someone who wants to make unfounded accusations in a way that seems to have merit. If the poster's name is genuine and if he is of an ethnic heritage other than Caucasian, then I'm very sorry that he perceives racism and feels attacked.

Steaphanie, notice how Duane didn't attack anyone personally? Notice how he stated facts about the mailer and about Santos? Notice how he didn't slam all Republican or conservatives. Even your criticism of his bullett point 3, but Duane offered all the information, including the name and where the group's mailing address is. You are implying he's only stating a half truth, but really he's stating all of it. He's not implying anything, not trying to trick anyone. You offered some insight that he might not have known and that's swell. But why attack him here nad start off your own post by attacking bhim further? You aren't helping your cause by being so caustic. I know from experience, it's easy to attack. But if you want to combat what you percieve to be misinformation you won't win any converts or open any eyes.
