Liberal secular progressive sting by Congress
Contributed by: Richard Yale on 6/15/2008

Part 1 - The Power

The Constitution of the United States,

Section 1 - The Legislature

All legislative Powers herein granted shall be vested in a Congress of the United States, which shall consist of a Senate and House of Representatives.

Section 8 - Powers of Congress,

To make all Laws which shall be necessary and proper for carrying into Execution the foregoing Powers, and all other Powers vested by this Constitution in the Government of the United States, or in any Department or Officer thereof.

Part 2 - Just two years ago:

1) Consumer confidence stood at a 2 1/2 year high;

2) Regular gasoline sold for $2.19 a gallon;

3) The unemployment rate was 4.5%.

Part 3 - Since voting in a Liberal Secular Progressive Democratic majority Congress in 2006 claiming Americans need liberal "changes" 219 to 216 and 49 plus 2 Independents, in the Senate. In just two short years Americans got these economic changes in return for their naive votes:

1) Consumer confidence plummet;

2) The cost of regular gasoline soar to over $4.50 a gallon;

3) Unemployment is up to 5% (a 10% increase);

4) American households have seen $2.3 trillion in equity value evaporate (stock and mutual fund losses);

5) Americans have seen their home equity drop by $1.2 trillion dollars;

6) 1% of American homes are in foreclosure.

America voted for change in 2006, and we got it!

Remember its Congress that makes law not the President. He has to work with what's handed to him.

Part 4:

Taxes...Whether Democrat or a Republican you will find these statistics amazing. Remember the liberal SPs claim restoring Clinton's Taxes is not a tax increase. If you believe that , the SPs have found an easy mark!

www.taxfoundation.org/publications/show/151.html

Taxes under Clinton 1999 Taxes under Bush 2008

SINGLE

Making 30K - Clinton tax $8,400 - Single making 30K - Bush tax $4,500

Making 50K - Clinton tax $14,000 - Single making 50K - Bush tax $12,500

Making 75K - Clinton tax $23,250 - Single making 75K - Bush tax $18,750

MARRIED

Making 60K - Clinton tax $16,800 - Married making 60K - Bush tax $9,000

Making 75K - Clinton tax $21,000 Married making 75K - Bush tax $18,750

Making 125K - Clinton tax $38,750 - Married making 125K - Bush tax $31,250

The Democratic candidate promises more "changes" with his return to higher Clinton tax rates

It is amazing how many people that fall into the categories above think Bush is shafting them and that Bill Clinton was the greatest President ever. If Obama is elected, he says he will repeal the Bush tax cuts. A good portion of the people that fall into the above categories above can't wait for it to happen. This is like the movie The Sting with Paul Newman; you scam somebody out of some money; and, they don't even know what happened.

SHARPEN UP VOTERS! SEE THROUGH THE SCAM! LIBERAL SECULAR PROGRESSIVE DEMOCRATS SELL "CHANGE" NEGLECTING TO TELL YOU WHAT IT IS. CHANGE MEANS LIBERALSARE THE "SHAFTORS" AND YOU, THE VOTERS, ARE THE "SHAFTEES"!

I've got a rule on these threads: I always visualize the other writers saying their words aloud, and whenever I picture flecks of spittle flying as they speak, I leave. Bye!

Wait, I get it. You didn't even know about this campaign pledge, did you? So enamored and in awe, fuzzy eyed and fainting, you missed this, didn't you? Don't worry about the middle being dissolved, it'll grow from the top down! Bet you like that option. Go ahead, generalize my opinion with a party again, it's kind of funny.

What part of what I said isn't "entirely true"? He wants to eliminate the cap, do you even know what I'm talking about? And why don't you define wealthy, as the cap sits around $100k. Is that the new group of fatcats in your little judgemental eyes? Go do your research at whatever screwball sites you get your thoughts from and come back and tell me what part of what I said was false: He said he wants to eliminate the cap - that would amount to a HUGE tax increase. Is that math too simple?

So, Mr. Rodriguez, while your big argument against Barack Obama has the cardinal GOP virtue of being not entirely true, it's also about protecting the wealthy from taxes. As America's middle class continues to dissolve, that's going to be a winning issue, for sure. At least you know who your base is.

Don't forget erasing the Social Security withholding cap which he's said he's pining for. Or are individuals who make more than the cap evil and corporationey now? The yearly raising of that cap is one heck of a tax hike, eliminating the cap altogether will amount to the biggest tax hike of a lifetime for lots of working people. Since I'm sure to never see a dime of that SS money, it's nothing but taxation without representation and wealth redistribution.

Doug, don't try pointing out reality to Mr. Yale - it's not a place he visits very often. To be fair, though, it's much more interesting in his world.

The facts you present are distorted. from snopes.com http://www.snopes.com/politics/taxes/clinton-bush.asp 'partly true' (the best kind of lie) - (after the corrected table) Note: that the largest difference between 1999 and 2008 taxes in this revised table is only $3,964 (for married couples making at least $125,000), while the original table (incorrectly posits comparable or larger differences in five out of six sample brackets.
