53-year-old Longmont man dies in 3-car accident
Contributed by: Jeff Thomas/YourHub.com on 4/25/2007

A 53-year-old Longmont man died in a three-car accident that occurred shortly after noon on April 24, according to Longmont police.

Police said the man was driving a white Subaru Legacy turning northbound onto the 800 block of Main Street when his car collided with a white Dodge utility van, which was proceeding south on Main Street, police said.

" The force of the impact caused both vehicles to enter the northbound lanes, colling with a Pontiac Sunfire, which was driven by a 35-year-old male Longmont resident (with his wife in the front passenger seat)," states a release from the Longmont Police. "The driver of the Subaru was transferred from Boulder Community Hospital to St. Anthony's Central Hospital in Denver, where he died at approximately 6 p.m."

Passengers from both the Subaru and the Pontiac were treated and released at Good Samaritan Hospital in Lafayette. No names are being released at this time, police said, and alcohol is not considered a factor in the accident.
