Learn From A Dog
Contributed by: Grace Freebush on 2/29/2008

I have learned so much from my dog and she has learned a lot from me. We have a wonderful relationship. She has shown me how to enjoy life and gives me unconditional love. I have shown her how much I love her by training her. I have made her a good canine citizen. Good training strengthens the bond between dogs and owners. My dog has taught me:

1. Never pass up the opportunity to go for a joy ride.

2. Allow the experience of fresh air and the wind in my face.

3. When loved ones come home, always run to greet them.

4. When it's in my best interest, always practice obedience.

5. Take naps and always stretch before rising.

6. Run, romp, and play daily.

7. Eat with gusto and enthusiasm.

8. Be loyal.

9. Never pretend to be something I'm not.

10. When someone is having a bad day, be silent, sit close by and nuzzle them gently.

11. Delight in the simple joy of a long walk.

12. On hot days, drink lots of water and lie under a shady tree.

13. When I am happy, dance around and wag my entire body.

14. No matter how often I get criticized, I won't buy into the guilt thing and pout. I'll run right back and make friends.

The list could go on. As you can see my dog is my friend, she is my Best Buddy and that is why I have taught her how to share a common language. Your dog can be your BestBuddy too. There is no better time than now to set some goals for you and your dog. Training your dog can benefit both owner and dog alike; training gives both of you a chance to get outdoors every day for physical exercise, fresh air and sunshine. Training will enhance the bond between you and your dog. Dogs who have a solid obedience education are a joy to live with - they respond well to household routines, have good manners in the presence of people and other dogs, and they fully enjoy the company of the owner who takes the time to provide training, intellectual stimulation and a high quality life. Best Buddy Pet Training can help you achieve this. Call 720-940-6892 or E-mail buddies@bestbuddypettraining.com for details. Also visit the website www.bestbuddypettraining.com to see which class on the calendar would best fit your schedule. Learning is a two way street and WOW it is FUN when it is done with the right buddy.
