CHARLIE
Hello my name is Charlie; I am a pure breed Jack Russell Terrier. I'm almost four, I've got wiry fur and even though I'm only twenty pounds I hog the covers. Some people love me, some don't. It really does not matter to me just as long as my mommy loves me. You see, she lives in a small apartment and she really wanted a dog but it had to be a small dog. So yep, I lucked out due to my compact size.
Many people told my mom
NOT to get a Jack Russell. Wow, I'm glad she did not listen. Yes, prospective owners should be aware that we are not for everyone
. We have a sense of independence that is stronger than can be found in most dog breeds, and although we are small, we are not "lap dogs". We're not really apartments dogs either, but only because we need a lot of room to play. We require a firm hand, a lot of attention, and regular - even frequent - exercise to maintain both our physical and emotional well-being. If Jack Russell's are not trained and exercised regularly we may exhibit unmanageable behavior which could include excessive barking, escaping from the yard, or digging in unwanted places. That's why I get so many walks in one day: it keeps me and my mommy happy and gives me all the space I need to run around. Jack Russell Terrier owners are advised to be responsible.
I have to admit I am stubborn. Of course this is a good quality if it is what my mom wants, mostly because I won't give up until I get my reward. This is bad if it is not what she wants. When she tells me to lie down and leave things alone I do. This is good. But, I love to watch TV and I block the view so nobody can see. I even watch it when it is off. This is bad. Really, I see no problems having nose prints on the screen. Besides, I know if I stare at it long enough it will come back on. Right?
I have to say I'm glad my mom did not listen to those people who don't like Jack Russell's. Sure, I'm no Wishbone but you know not all Dalmatians are Pongo's. For my mom and me it was love at first sight. However, my mom did have some problems with me. Actually I think I had problems with her but I won't go into that. She wasn't the one who put me on the streets. Anyhow, she took me to
Best Buddy Pet Training. I loved it and so did she. I learned a lot of new things and I worked on things that I had known but forgot. I sit every time my mom asks me too. I lay down, stay, come, and leave things alone when asked and I never ever have an accident in the house. My largest problem was I did not know how to play nicely, especially with other dogs. I love other dogs but I get too rambunctious and I never knew when to stop. I kept on going and sometimes it got ugly. Well, since I have gone to
Best Buddy Pet Training I now know how to play. I have to thank my best canine friend Adhara. Adhara is a beautiful three year old chocolate lab. She is owned by one of the trainers at Best Buddy. She is smart, beautiful and gentle. She does not posses a mean bone in her body.
I have to say my mom is my best human friend but Adhara is my best canine friend. You can learn so much at
Best Buddy Pet Training. The trainers are great and their buddies are awesome. They work with every type of puppy and dog. If you want to learn and have fun, check out Best Buddy Pet Training at

I have learned to be a good canine citizen. To this day I still see Adhara. I walk with her in the open space and I spend time with her when my mom is on vacation. Yes,
Best Buddy also provides in home animal care. Have your owner check them out. It will be the best thing you ever had them do.
