As Brit Horvat recounted her trips to Vegas, I as well have nothing but fond memories of multiple adventures to the sin city.
My best one was a total surprise. My 40
th birthday was approaching and my wife promised that she would get a little party together to celebrate the occasion. The day before my birthday a big white limousine pulled up to our front door in the morning. The driver was a friend I know and she said that she was having some issues and inquired if I would take a drive to help diagnose what was wrong. Sure I said, and Ronda, the wife said she wanted to go along since we never get to ride in limousines. Sure enough we pull away and head down the highway - next thing I know we are headed to DIA.
At the airport we check in for a flight to Las Vegas so now I know the surprise is out. Little did I know that once we got to the concourse my parents and - must have been 20 other friends were waiting for the same flight. What a fun flight it was. Arriving at the hotel we decided to get a drink in the bar, next thing I know some drunken fool was bumping into me. As I turned around there were my 4 brothers and their wives standing there with big ol' grins on their faces.
For the next three days there would be someone else out of the clear blue who would show up to party - one family was even on there way to Las Angles and stopped to join in the fun. Best part was that she bought tickets to the Las Vegas NASCAR race since we went for my birthday which is March 1
st and the race was the 3
rd.
All in all it was a event that you mark in your lifetime - that you could be surprised to that extent and have so many friends participate. The kicker was that 3 weeks prior to going she had organized a craps party at the house to teach our friends the game and I never even caught on that it was the prelude to this whole trip.
If I win it would give me a chance to get even and surprise her with a return engagement to Las Vegas.
