Community Giving winners
Contributed by: Travis Henry   on 5/4/2007

After receiving hundreds of nominations for the YourHub.com Community Giving $1,000 grants, a committee selected three finalists for each of our 15 print sections.

We then opened up the selection process to YourHub.com users, asking them to log on and vote for the best nonprofit project in each neighborhood.

This was our first year using the online voting method and we ran into a few technical glitches, including discovering a couple of individuals who figured out how to vote more than once. In the end, only one vote per unique registered user was counted in the final tally. All in all, the process went pretty smooth.

All of the nominees and finalists were very worthy and I hope they continue to use YourHub.com in the future to get their news out to the community.

Join me in congratulating the winning entries:

I want to say thank you for sponsering such a great need in our communities. I learned a lot about all the ones who sumitted ideas on what is going on with different organizations. So many worthy causes out there. I found places I can help that I did not even know was out there.
