I got my first day of the snowboard season in Thursday at Loveland. I'd never been to Loveland before. The unloading areas were steep and icy and it was windy, but there were some good runs where you could get an edge in . I bought a new setup: Burton board, K2 bindings and Burton boots. The board is 173 cm, about 20 cm longer than my last (and only) board. It looks long standing up, but once it was on my feet the difference was pretty negligible.
I used a gold medallion to to ride the lift; the Daily gets four for the office to share. Guess what: it's an actual gold medallion. It looks like an Olympic medal, ribbon and all (I'll get a photo of one when I get the chance).
Overall, a good day No. 1. Tuesday: Copper Mountain (we get a free season pass there).
