McStain Neighborhoods, a Colorado-based homebuilder with communities throughout metro Denver, and EcoBroker
® International, the first and largest provider of green designation training for real estate professionals, are teaming up for a "Green Learning Opportunity."
Real estate professionals will gather Aug. 22 at McStain's new Hyland Village community in Westminster to learn about sustainability, efficiency and design. The course,
The McStain Advantage, will be taught by McStain and will emphasize McStain's building principles as an example of environmental consciousness in home building.
"Home buyers increasingly want to know how their homes fit into the new environmentalism, and real estate professionals need to know how to respond to that demand," said Eric Wittenberg, president and chief executive officer of McStain. "We're proud that we've been designing and building eco-friendly homes for more than 40 years, and we are excited to team up with EcoBroker
® to share ideas and methods that follow these principles."
McStain homes feature the latest developments in sustainable home building methods, including water-saving features, use of recycled materials and architectural design that minimizes the homeowner's carbon footprint. From the land on which the homes are built, to the paint that goes on the walls, decisions are made based on principles of sustainability, so in the long run fewer resources are used and owners save money.
"In today's housing market, despite the slowed economy, green-built homes are still the hot ticket, it's what buyers are looking for," said John Stovall, vice president of business development for EcoBroker
®. "It just makes sense to team up with McStain to educate local real estate professionals how to recognize and market these features to homebuyers."
