Lucas (wife of Jenny Lucas and brother/construction and former real estate broker), Becky Cabral (wife of Brian Cabral, C.U. asst. coach) and Barbara Pinson (wife of Scott Pinson). Many nieces and nephews. At one point, my grandfather (now deceased) had 101 living descendants.

What do you like most about living here?: The friendly and fun people, the mountains and the fresh air

Interests & hobbies: Other languages, movies and books (e.g., "The Bridge of San Luis Rey")

Favorite TV show: Antique Road Show

Favorite Web site: Wikipedia

People who inspired you (and how): President Abraham Lincoln who said: "Put your feet where you know it is right and then stand firm."

How you have contributed to the community: I do pro bono work as an attorney for the poor and oppressed sometimes. I was Vice-Chairperson of the Boulder County Republicans. I was State Chairperson of the Teen Age Republicans (TARS) in high school. I was Secretary of the Colorado AIDS Legislative Association during Gov. Romer's time and did other volunteer activities for Boulder County AIDS Project throughout the years. I was a judicial clerk with the Colorado Supreme Court Office of Disciplinary Counsel and received a Certificate of Appreciation for Outstanding Contributions as a summer intern with the U.S. Department of State's Foreign Service Institute (head of intern program: the Honorable Brandon Grove, first African-American ambassador to South Africa)

What are the biggest issues facing your constituency now: The economy (jobs), education and health care. Longmont has one of the highest rates of bankruptcies per capita in the country. I am only running for State House, so I am looking for solutions that fit Coloradoans' thinking. National issues like the war are really not relevant to my race.
