Louisville Police DepartmentMISSING: BEAR IN T-SHIRT
At 8:35 a.m. Sept. 28, police were dispatched to the 900 block of Sunflower Street on a theft report. The reporting party said her 3-foot-tall, 50-pound concrete bear that sits on her porch was taken. The bear, which the owner dresses in different outfits, was wearing a T-shirt at the time. At 12:15 p.m. the same day, police were dispatched to the 1100 block of Garfield Avenue on a theft call. A 3-foot-tall, 50 to 60-pound concrete gargoyle with a repaired wing was taken from the yard. Both of these cases are inactive because there is no suspect information.
MAN ON PAROLE FOR ASSAULT BY SLEDGHAMMER ARRESTED AGAIN
A 31-year-old Lafayette man was arrested at approximately 7:55 p.m. Sept. 28 on the 12000 block of
Flagg Drive in Lafayette on suspicion of a prior criminal felony warrant, second-degree assault, third-degree assault and criminal mischief. Police were dispatched to the 1600 block of Garfield Avenue on a domestic violence report. The reporting party said she and her live-in boyfriend had a physical confrontation after she wouldn't give him cigarettes. She said her boyfriend doesn't work and should buy his own cigarettes. When another person in the residence at the time asked him to leave, he pushed her causing her to fall, and threw a phone at her, hitting her thigh. He pushed his girlfriend and chocked her causing her to almost lose consciousness and broke the door on his way out. A neighbor corroborated reports and said that he told her, "Don't call the (expletive) police" on his way out the door. The man also was on parole for assaulting someone with a sledgehammer. The man was arrested at his parent's house and taken to Boulder County Jail.
WOMAN WITH NO SHOES, CRYING ARRIVES AT POLICE STATION
A 23-year-old Louisville man was arrested at 3:55 p.m. Sept. 27 on the 900 block of W. Maple Court on suspicion of criminal mischief, harassment, domestic violence and false imprisonment. The reporting party came to the Louisville Police Department visibly upset and wearing no shoes. She said she has lived with her boyfriend and his parents for the past five years and her boyfriend has been abusive in the past, but during an incident that day, she became scared for her safety. She said that he had called her a "dumb (explicative)" and when he wouldn't apologize, she turned off the computer he was working on. He jumped up, grabbed her from behind and placed her in a chokehold. He broke a cell phone she grabbed to try to call police. At one point she wiggled loose to the floor and when he pinned her she bit him, to which he responded, "Thanks for the physical evidence." When the arrestees' mom came to the bedroom door, he let his girlfriend go. He was arrested and taken to the Boulder County Jail.
