MAN PULLED OVER, DRIVES OVER CURB
A 35-year-old Commerce City man was arrested at approximately 7:19 p.m. Jan. 25 on suspicion of DUI, DUI second offense and driving with a suspended or restricted driver's license. A witness called police on a suspected drunk driver. Police located the car at a drive-thru at McDonald's, 939 W. Dillon Road. The car was weaving badly out of the parking lot and weaving in the lanes. When police pulled the driver over, he ran over a curb. Police smelled alcohol on the man's breath and the man had droopy, bloodshot eyes. The man didn't seem to notice that the beverage he had between his legs was spilling on his lap. The man said he hadn't been drinking. When the police officer went back to his patrol car, the man took off running. The man was caught after a brief chase on foot. Thee man was taken to Boulder County Jail and issued a summons.
PIZZERIA SHORT ON CASH, ORGANIZATION
On Jan. 23, police were dispatched to Nick-N-Willy's Pizza, 1375 E. South Boulder Road on a report that $1,282.62 was missing from the cash drawer. The owner said the money might have been taken in increments between Jan. 1 and 15. The owner suspected an ex-employee took the money, but no charges were filed because there were too many discrepancies in the paperwork from the store and too many employees had an opportunity to take the money. All of the employees denied taking the money.
