SLOW DOWN OR I'LL SPIT ON YOU
Police were dispatched to an incident involving a male pedestrian who was in the road and was allegedly hit by a car at 7:30 a.m. April 13 at the crosswalk at Via Appia Way and Via Capri. The man said a speeding car came to a "screeching halt" and hit him in the thigh as it came to a stop. The driver said the man looked intoxicated and had jumped in the road and started yelling at him to slow down. The driver said he told the man to go home and sleep it off. The man then spit on the driver and said he was going to call the police. The driver responded, "Good luck with that. I got your DNA on my shirt." The driver did not pursue charges against the man who spit on him.
WOMAN THROWS BOTTLE; ISSUED SUMMONS
A 45-year-old Superior woman was issued a disorderly conduct summons after she threw a water bottle at a car at approximately 8:30 a.m. April 20 near Monarch K-8 at South 88th Street and Campus Drive. A woman, whose car was hit with the water bottle, said she had a green light at the intersection and went, but stopped when she saw a pedestrian crossing. The pedestrian was angry the driver hadn't stopped sooner and threw a plastic water bottle at the car's windshield. The driver was concerned because her kids were in the car and if a window was open, the bottle might have hit them. The pedestrian told police it would have been far more damaging if she was hit, then the car being hit by a water bottle.
