Blotter: Domestic is actually just balloon phobia

DOMESTIC IS ACTUALLY JUST BALLOON PHOBIA
At 4:20 p.m. April 19, police were dispatched to a possible domestic dispute in front of Coal Creek Collision Center, 1100 Courtesy Road. A 32-year-old Longmont man and 33-year-old Longmont woman were on their way to church with their kids when the woman discovered there would be balloons at the service. The woman has a phobia of balloons and told her husband to pull over so she could walk home. The husband tried to stop the woman by giving her in a bear hug, but she resisted and began flailing her arms. A witness called police. The situation was diffused and the woman went home, while the rest of her family went to church.

BIZARRE GRAFFITI AT ELEMENTARY

At 10 p.m. April 27, an officer on patrol noticed graffiti at Louisville Elementary, 400 Hutchinson St. The graffiti, which was on windows doors and signs, included bizarre references. The estimated damage is more than $400. There were no suspects at the time of this report.

DUMPSTER FIRE'S CAUSE UNKNOWN
At 7:38 p.m. April 19, police were dispatched to a dumpster fire on the 800 block of West Dillon Road. A witness saw smoke and small flames coming from the dumpster and said there were what appeared to be embers from a barbecue grill in the dumpster. Louisville Fire Department could not find anything that caused the fire. The case is inactive because of a lack of evidence.

MAN DOESN'T WANT TO CALL POLICE
A 44-year-old Louisville man was arrested on suspicion of a hit-and-run, DUI-second offense in five years, reckless driving and eluding/attempting to elude police on the 500 block of Spruce Way. The reporting party, who was parked in a parking lot at 324 McCaslin Blvd., said his car was hit. The man said the driver who hit him was obviously intoxicated and asked if he could just pay for the damage instead of calling police. When the man said that wasn't possible because he was driving a company car, the driver who hit him took off. The driver pulled onto a sidewalk and then the grass when he was pulled over. Police later located the man based on the other driver's description. Damage on the suspect's vehicle matched damage to the other car and witnesses corroborated the report. The man was taken to Boulder County Jail.
