My name: Annie Hughes
My age: 57
My family: husband
Pat Hubbard and daughter
Erin Hubbard
Education: Studied music and drama at University of Northern Colorado and Arizona State University
What I do: I own and run a website design company, Earthshine Design. I also own and manage rental properties.
My favorite place in town to hang out: I like to walk around Old Town Louisville and go to the library and the shops and restaurants.
What I like most about living here: The kindness of thepeople, the sense of history, the unique character of Louisville.
My interests and hobbies: organic gardening, singing, music, cooking, baking, knitting, sewing, skate skiing, biking, hiking
My favorite thing to cook: whatever's growing in the garden
People who inspire me (and how): My husband, because he's so smart, so talented, and so good to us, and because he makes me laugh. My daughter, because of her beautiful voice and the songs she writes, her cello and ukulele playing, her sweetness, loyalty, tenacity, and willingness to work hard.
How I have contributed to the community: as a school volunteer, an ecocycle volunteer, a member of a neighborhood group interested in saving a piece of open space, and a frequent attendee at city meetings
The biggest issues facing Louisville now: Protecting and improving the quality of our environment. Alternative transportation, use of renewable energy sources (for homes, businesses, and government buildings), single-stream recycling, even county-wide revenue sharing can all play a part in this.
Why I am running: There's a job that needs to be done and I have the desire, ability, time, and energy to do it.
