Oikos jazz a hit at United Church of Montbello
Contributed by: Rev Dr James Fouther on 10/30/2007

As dusk settled in Oct. 19, the Cleveland based band Oikos was setting up in the United Church of Montbello Sanctuary.(4879 Crown Blvd., the corner of Crown & Andrews)The supportive crowd that came out cheered as they heard some jazz standards, enjoyed the creative storytelling of the group's leader, Rev. Cliff Aerie and enjoyed the world music emphasis of this creative and talented ensemble! Their melodious tones filled the Colorado night air witha pulse full of warmth, soul and rhythm! Oikos sold out of the cds they brought to sell. Overall, it was a great blessing to host Oikos and I will look forward to their return to the far Northeast part of Denver in the future! Band leader, Rev. Cliff Aerie was capably aided by, Ms. Arianna Aerie on vocals, Dr. Chris Bakriges on piano, Samson Robles on trumpet/oboe and the Aurora based Kenneth Walker on bass and Todd Reid on drums. It was an evening that will not be forgotten by folks around the United Church of Montbello anytime soon!

Cheers and kudos to "Oikos" Jazz Ensemble! Come and try worship with us this Sunday at the United Church of Montbello and we promise we'll provide a traditional service at 8am that's hopeful and meaningful and a 10:30 am gospel worship service that will rock your socks! Check us out!
