Experts from Presbyterian/St. Luke's Medical Center, the University of Colorado transplant program and Donor Alliance, Inc., will address "The Impact and Future of Organ, Eye and Tissue Donation and Transplantation" at a panel discussion at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 24 in the Aurora Municipal Center's Council Chamber, 15151 E. Alameda Parkway.
Panelists will specifically discuss the role transplantation and donation plays in our world today, what the future holds, the ethical questions that arise and the true story of one person touched by donation
The discussion is the second of three in the City of Aurora's Power of One Monumental Moment panel discussion series. Each panel will include a moderated question-and-answer session. Admission is free. No tickets are required, but an RSVP is requested at 303-739-6617 or jpatters@auroragov.org.
Panelists are: Patty Boyd, director of special services for Presbyterian/St. Luke's Medical Center; Michael Talamantes, a clinical social work educator for the University of Colorado Transplant Program; and Anissa Cordova, family support/aftercare coordinator for Donor Alliance, Inc.
The final panel discussion is slated for Nov. 14. For more information, call 303-739-6617 or visit www.auroragov.org/powerofone.
The Power of One Monumental Moment is the fourth part in a year-long series of events designed to connect and inspire the community. The Power of One program is presented by the City of Aurora Library, Recreation & Cultural Services, in partnership with the Friends of the Aurora Public Library, Barnes & Noble, the Community College of Aurora, the Colorado Film School at Lowry and the Aurora Chamber of Commerce.
