Lauren Ashlie Morrison
, of Montbello and a senior at Thomas Jefferson High School, is ready for college. On Feb. 6, Morrison signed a letter of intent to play volleyball next fall. She will be attending Brevard College in North Carolina.
Lauren also played volleyball in the 30th annual CCGS/BADENAll-State Volleyball Gamesand received an All-State Award. Her extracurricular involvemnet in school includes DECA; she is also on the committee to help students not to drink and drive.
Lauren will major in business, and is expecting to acheive great collegiate endeavors .
When asked why Brevard, she replies, "I really love the campus, its a small four- year college and it doesn't seem to be overwhealming at all," she said. "The facility and the students were really nice and it fits my personality."
"It's really far, and I am the first out offour siblings to leave home for college, a little scared but I believe I will adjust fine. I feel that God is really looking over me for this door to be opened. Not only will I play one of my favorite sports (basketball being my favorite), I'll be able to get an education. I want to succeed, and make those who have prayed for, believed and invested in me proud."
There were a total of 13 students that signed from Thomas Jefferson High.
Lauren narrowed down her choice from CSU, Adams State College, Loyola University and Prairie View A&M University.

I think that the article is awsome, it shows support from the family, and we must continue to express to children who are trying, how proud of them we are. you go Lauren, hang in there. this is only the beginning of a great future
