Internationally acclaimed flutist Marilyn Maingart is returning to Colorado to perform with the Evergreen Chamber Orchestra in two events this month. Marilyn was principal flutist of the Evergreen Chamber Orchestra and the Jefferson Symphony for eight years before moving to Florida. Since she moved there she has served as principal flutist in at least eight different Florida orchestras and has performed in Europe, the Americas and the Far East as soloist and principal flutist with several international orchestras. As principal flutist with the Belgium Radio and Television Orchestra she performed ensembles with the like of James Galway, famous Irish flutist.
Not content with only performing in the classical styles, Marilyn also plays soprano saxophone and three kinds of flutes with a rock band, "LC3". She also performs a solo musical revue writes children's books, writes song and is an inventor!,
Marilyn says she is absolutely THRILLED to be back with her Colorado family, the Evergreen Chamber Orchestra for their performance at Rockland Community Church, Sunday afternoon April 27th at 3:00 p.m. The program will include Beethoven's Symphony No. 4, Bach's Brandenburg Concerto No. 5, William Grant Still's "Miniatures" and the lovely "Gypsy Airs" by Sarasate with Marilyn as featured flute soloist.
The Evergreen Chamber Orchestra and Jefferson Symphony orchestra are hosting a gala dinner buffet at Mt Vernon Country Club on Friday evening, April 25th, at 6:00 p.m.. Ms Maingart will perform there as will Larry Beck, Principal Oboist and the Voice of the Woods Cello Quartet. Price is $60 including a ticket for the Sunday afternoon concert. Reservations for the dinner are taken at 303-670-6558.
Tickets for the Sunday afternoon performance on April 27 at Rockland Church are $12 Adults, $10 Seniors and $7 Students. Tickets may be purchased at the door. Groups of 10 are eligible for a special rate with prior notice (303-670-6558).
