Recall Vince Chowdhury Campaign to Speak at Jeffco School Board Meeting

Residents wanting the resignation of Vince Chowdhury from the Jeffco School Board will be attending the August 21 st meeting of the Jefferson County School Board at 6 p.m., 1829 Denver West, Bldg. #27, to demand Vince Chowdhury comply with the Jeffco Board of Education's request to resign. The group, flanked by outraged parents and students, will be holding a press conference at 5:30 p.m. in the parking lot before the meeting.

The Jeffco Board called an emergency meeting July 8 th and gave Chowdhury until July 25 th to resign, which he has not done. Now, concerned citizens have launched a recall campaign.

"The school board has few legal options and cannot force Chowdhury to resign," said Lois Florkey, Littleton resident and Recall Vince committee member. "It's time for everyone who lives in Jefferson County to speak up. We're hoping Chowdhury does the right thing and steps down voluntarily before we're forced to mount a full recall campaign. Who wants someone who has abused his daughter representing their children on the school board?"

On July 8 th, Vince Chowdhury pleaded guilty to 3 rd degree assault for slapping and allegedly choking his 16 year-old daughter in a domestic dispute. More information can be found on the recall campaign's website at www.recallvince.com.
