Sheriff needs help identifying murder victim
Contributed by: Jeffco Sheriff's Office on 7/30/2007

On July 23, 2007, Jefferson County Sheriff's deputies responded to the 8400 block of Scenic Drive in reference to a dead body found at vacant home. Based on the condition of the decomposed body, investigators believe that the subject had been there for some period of time.

According to Jacki Kelley, public information director for the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office, the case is being investigated as a homicide. "It is clear the wounds on the body were not self-inflicted or accidental injuries," Kelley said.

Brenda Flick, a managing broker/owner of Real Pro, reported the body to Jefferson County Sheriff's Office. She and a client found the body while she was showing the client a house on Scenic Drive.

"It was a typical day, a typical showing," Flick said. We came out from the master bedroom onto the deck. My client said, "What's that? I was looking out. I was seeing rocks, rocks, trees - body."

Flick said the man's body was facing away from them and lying on the ground. "It was obvious he wasn't taking a nap."

Flick described what happened afterward: "We went into a state of shock. We didn't run out screaming. We stood on the deck and called 911."

After the arrival of Jefferson County Sheriff's office deputies, Flick said she and her client walked underneath the deck and away from the scene. She said she shows properties from Littleton to Conifer to Bailey and the client she was with at the time is from a nearby area.

Sheriff's investigators are continuing the investigation surrounding the circumstances of the murder. The victim is described as an adult male, 35-55 years old, 5"6", 150 lbs, long straight black hair pulled back into a ponytail, and a very thin moustache and goatee. The victim also had no upper teeth and his lower teeth were in a very poor, decaying condition. He was wearing newer blue jeans, a grey t-shirt with the word "DECA" on the left breast and brown lace-up work boots.

Kelley also said there is very limited information on the case thus far.

Anyone with additional information is asked to contact the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office tip line at 303-271-5612.
