PURSE STOLEN FROM PARK, THIEF SEEN
Deputies investigated the theft of a purse reported by a 27-year-old woman July 31. The woman said she left her purse on a bench in Clement Park, 7306 W Bowles Ave., about 1:25 p.m. while she unloaded a work van, and discovered it had been stolen about 1:40 p.m. A witness told the woman a woman 25 to 30 years old with light brown hair and wearing a red shirt took the purse and left the scene quickly. Two fraudulent charges were made to a debit card at gas stations immediately after the theft, according to the report.
THEFT FROM GARAGE REPORTED
A burglary at a home on the 10600 block of West Ontario Avenue in Littleton was reported on Aug. 1. A resident said someone entered through a partially open overhead garage door between 7:15 p.m. July 31 and 6:30 a.m. Aug. 1. A pair of sunglasses was stolen from a car in the garage and currency was taken from a purse left on the front seat of a second car in the garage.
WOMAN CITED FOR SHOPLIFTING
Deputies issued a summons for theft to a 48-year-old woman on Aug. 1 after she was detained by security personnel at King Soopers, 9800 W. Belleview Ave., Littleton, for allegedly concealing merchandise in her purse and try to leave the store without paying for it. A video tape of the alleged theft was taken as evidence.
BICYCLE THEFTS REPORTED
Deputies investigated the theft of two bicycles from a home in Evergreen report Aug. 2. A resident reported the bikes were taken from beneath a back deck at the home between July 18 and Aug. 1.
POOL VANDALIZED
Deputies investigated vandalism at the Woodbourn Pool on the 11000 block of West Rowland Drive in Littleton reported Aug. 2. Between 9 p.m. Aug. 1 and 5:30 a.m. Aug. 3 someone entered the pool and threw pool furniture into the pool, broke motion lights and left empty beer cans and cups of beer at the scene.
PICKUP TRUCK BREAK-IN PROBED
Deputies investigated the break-in of a 2004 Toyota pickup truck parked at South West Plaza Mall, 8501 W. Bowles Ave., in Littleton on Aug. 3. Witnesses said a suspect, described as a Hispanic man about 5 feet, six inches tall broke into the truck and stole a subwoofer speaker. He ran to a white Chevrolet truck with tinted windows and fled the scene, witnesses told deputies. A passenger side window was broken to gain entry. Deputies will review security video of the parking lot.
CAR WINDOW SHATTERED IN SHOOTING
A Littleton man reported Aug. 4 that a rear window in his daughter's car was shattered Aug. 2, when someone apparently fired a pellet gun at the car. The incident occurred while the woman was driving westbound on West Coal mine Avenue, one block east of South Simms Street just after 5 a.m., according to the report.
