Police blotter: Cops cap cologne caper

COPS CAP COLOGNE CAPER
Deputies arrested a 28-year-old man on suspicion of theft after he allegedly tried to shoplift merchandise from a Sears store, 8501 W. Bowles Ave., on Aug. 22. Security personnel allegedly bought some clothing and then attempted to steal three bottles of cologne by concealing them in a pants pocket. The suspect was issued a summons for theft.

VANDALS STRIKE AT TENNIS CLUB
Vandalism and graffiti at the Alpine Vista Tennis Club, 2900 Evergreen Parkway was reported about 12:17 p.m. Aug. 23. A maintenance worker reported finding holes cut in tennis court inflatable covers and graffiti spray-painted on them. Deputies took photographs of shoe prints left behind. There was no immediate estimate of damage.

VAN NOODLED, SAUCED
Deputies investigated vandalism to a van parked at a residence on Willowleaf Drive reported on Aug. 25. The owner stated between 10 p.m. Aug. 24 and 8 a.m. Aug. 25, someone dumped spaghetti and spaghetti sauce on the passenger side of the van. The owner reported vandalism had also been done to the van about two months earlier. The spaghetti and sauce was washed off with no damage resulting.

BURGLARY MAY HAVE BEEN INSIDE JOB
Deputies investigated a burglary at the Fairways at Racoon Creek, 6805 West Bowles Ave., reported Aug. 23 abut (:30 a.m. A leasing consultant told investigators he discovered someone had forcibly entered the office and took unspecified items. The consultant said exterior doors were secure, but an interior door had been forced open. The Sheriff's Office did respond to an alarm at about 4 a.m., but found the exterior doors secure.

DEPUTIES INVESTIGATE DISPUTE OVER DOG
Deputies were dispatched to the 7300 block of South Webster Street about 8:55 p.m. Aug. 27 on report of harassment. On investigation, deputies discovered an argument had taken place between a 58-year-old man walking his dog and a resident whose yard the dog came into. On investigation deputies discovered there had past incidents of arguments regarding the man's dog fouling the resident's yard. There were no arrests and no citations issued.

TRAFFIC INCIDENT INVESTIGATED
Deputies investigated a traffic dispute reported about 10:09 p.m. Aug. 23 after being dispatched to the 12000 block of West Brandt Place. A woman and her boyfriend reported the driver of a black Honda had cut them off twice while driving south on Simms Street and threw a beer container at their car. On investigation the woman admitted she made an obscene gesture and argued with the driver of the Honda during the incident. There were no arrests made and no citiations issued.

NEIGHBORS REPORT CAR VANDALISM
A resident of the 28100 block of Knowles Road in Evergreen reported vandalism to a 1992 Ford Mustang on Aug. 22. Between 7 p.m. Aug. 21 and 8 a.m. Aug. 22 someone shattered the front windshield and dented the roof pillar. Deputies on scene stated a neighbor of the victim also reported windshield damage to a car parked at his residence.
