Sheriff's blotter: Home intruder sought

HOME INTRUDER SOUGHT
On June 11, a deputy investigated a report of an intruder at a residence on the 7100 block of South Reed Court. The residents said they were visiting with friends about 10:30 p.m. when they heard the front door slam shut. On investigation one of the residents saw a man standing partly inside the home near the back door. When the man saw the resident, he ran into the backyard. No suspects were identified.

SHOPLIFTER BUSTED
A deputy arrested a woman on suspicion of shoplifting about 6:23 p.m. June 16 after she allegedly tried to steal clothing from Dillards, 8501 W. Bowles Avenue. A store security person saw the woman put clothing into a bag and walk out of the store without paying. The woman was issued a summons for theft and released.

SUSPICIOUS PACKAGE HELD ONLY FLOUR
A deputy was dispatched to the 9100 block of West San Juan Drive June 17 on report of a suspicious package. A resident reported he saw a package containing a white powder had been broken open in the street in front of his house about 6 p.m. The duct tape wrapped package was investigated by the bomb squad and determined to contain flour. No suspects were identified.

VEHICLE VANDALISM INVESTIGATED
A resident of the 6000 block of West Ida Driver reported vandalism to a vehicle parked o the driveway on June 11. The owner said between midnight at 8:30 a.m. someone poured syrup on the hood and sprayed white paint on the right side driver and passenger doors. A right side rear passenger window was also broken, according to the report. There was no immediate estimate of damage.

REAR WINDOW BROKEN BY VANDAL
A resident of the 9600 block of West Dorado Drive reported vandalism to a window on June 11. The resident told deputies he heard a noise about 4:30 a.m.. and later discovered someone through a two-inch diameter rock through the window. There was no immediate estimate of damage.


LION STATUES STOLEN FROM PORCH
A deputy investigated the theft of display statues from a residence on the 6600 block of South Gray Street about 2:28 a.m. June 14. A neighbor said she heard loud voices about 2 a.m., looked out and saw several white males go onto her neighbor's porch and steal two lion statues from either side of the front steps. The neighbor was alerted to the theft by the deputy. No suspects were identified and there was no immediate loss estimate.
