ARMED MAN SHOT DEAD
A 34-year-old man was shot dead after an armed standoff with a Jeffco Sheriff's Office SWAT team on Oct. 23. Officer weredispatched a home on the 11300 block of West Crestline Driver about 5:28 p.m. Oct. 22 on report of shots fired. The SWAT Team and a bomb squad were called in. Negotiators talked to the suspect and used tear gas to try to force him from the home. SWAT officers went into the home about 12:45a.m. and shot the man multiple times after he pointed a gun at officers.He was pronounced dead at a local hospital. An investigation is continuing.
TENNIS COURT FOOD VANDALISM
Deputies investigated vandalism to a tennis court on the 0-99 block of Mountain Willow Drive on Oct. 17. A resident said someone had poured chocolate syrup, oil, red jam and flour on areas of the private tennis court, and left strands of toilet paper in trees on the property.
JEEP BREAK-IN REPORTED
. A resident of the 4800 block of South Robb Street reported Oct. 14 his Jeep Cherokee convertible was broken into overnight and a satellite radio, CDs and a quanitiy of pain killers were stolen. Entry was gained by undoing the soft top, according to the report.
ROAD RAGE INVESTIGATED
A deputy investigated a road rage incident report Oct. 16. A resident said she and her boyfriend honked at the driver of a Pontiac Grand Am which then began driving aggressively at them onto northbound Hwy. 285, near South Wadsworth Boulevard, and throwing things at their car. The owner later found a dent in the right rear quarter panel of the car. the deupty was given a license number of the second car involved.
WOMAN REPORTS THREAT BY WORKERS
A deputy investigated an incident reported Oct. 15 by a resident of the 13100 block of West Grand Place. The resident said she had a confrontation with constructions workers whose vehicles were parked in front of her home after she asked them to move on Oct. 14. The woman said one of the workers threatened her, saying "wait until you see what happens tomorrow" and said she saw the same workers parked near her home the next day.
