My name: Rob Witwer
Age: 35
My family: Wife Heather (married 10 years); three boys ages 1, 3 and 5
What I do: State Representative, House District 25
My favorite place in town to hang out: Anywhere my kids are
What I like most about living here: The mountains and the wildlife
My interests and hobbies: Reading, walking, birding, guitar
What is my favorite thing to cook: I'm not much of a cook, so I feel pretty good if I don't burn the toast
People who inspired me (and how): My dad. He's honest, hard-working and treats everybody with dignity.
How I have contributed to the community: I'm proud of my record of working in a bipartisan fashion at the Capitol. Last year, 100% of the bills I sponsored were passed with bipartisan support. One bill, the Backcountry Access Act, opens up hiking trails to the public by giving landowners liability protection.
What are the biggest issues facing House District 25 now: Water conservation, fostering parental involvement in an accountable and fully-funded school system, access to quality health care, getting serious about illegal immigration, keeping taxes and regulation in check, and maintaining civility in our political dialogue
