Nine-year-old Christopher Altenborg, a fourth grader at Niwot Elementary, was the first student to finish the Niwot Trot on Sept. 28. Vivian Jacobi, celebrating her 8th birthday, was the student female winner. Jacobi is in the third grade at NHS.

The fourth annual race had a record turnout of about 250 participants. The funds raised help to pay for field trips, technology upgrades, continuing education for teachers and more at Niwot Elementary.
