The Rotary Club of Niwot has been involved in several service projects this summer.
The club ran the 4 th of July parade in Niwot, participated in Niwot Nostalgia Days, and helped
Bert Steele with his pancake breakfasts for both events. As a result some serious cash is going to help pay of the railroad car in Whistle Stop Park. Other park assistanceis being discussed.
The club has now collected over 120 crutches, canes and bootsandseveral walkers for the Crutches4Africa program.
Rosemary Bruce of the Grange has been cleaning out stock in her seniors lending program and has been a huge contributor. At the Rocky Mountain Christian Church, a barrel therehas also been filled with donations. The Niwot Rotary will be joining with The Boulder Rotary Club to collect crutches at one of the CU home football games this November. Thanks to all the anonymous donors.
In support of local schools and education, the club has a number of projects going. It sponsored three Niwot High students to the week-long Rotary Youth Leadership Award camp in Estes Park in July. These students are now better trained andequipped as future community leaders and participants. The club also purchases, and provides free-of-charge, dictionaries to third graders at Niwot Elementary and ESL dictionaries to Niwot High School. The club will distribute dictionaries to third graders on Oct. 16. (The 16th is Noah Webster's birthday.) Labels are being prepared which will note the Niwot Rotary as the donor.
