On August 30 an officer responded to the 10700 block of Kimblewyck Circle on a tresspass in progress in a vacant home. A witness stated she saw two juveniles leaving the house after she heard noises inside, including glass and things breaking. Another witness also stated there was glass breaking inside the unoccupied house. The two boys seen running away were known to the witnesses. Both were contacted, arrested and later released to a parent.

Information on voting on the Receration center........
To the Northglenn Residents:
Yes this is another Article about the new Recreation Center that is going to be voted on in November. One thing that I was taught to do with any kind of politics and voting, make sure you get all the facts before you vote, because if I voted the wrong way I can hurt myself, my family and residents of Northglenn.
Everything you read these days is in black and white and there is no way to read between the lines, so I went to the top (Northglenn City) and down to the bottom to the resident's that have been living in Northglenn since Northglenn became a town, and yes they are our senior citizen's that are being forgotten.
The senior citizen's of Northglenn do a lot for the community of Northglenn and take part in all the event's here in Northglenn. If the new recreation does not go thou, and the old one get's torn down, then were will they go?
I care because down the road I will be a senior citizen. What about the school age kids that use the recreation center and when there is no school for the holiday's and they go to the recreation center to a program like, "Club 22" that offers a safe, supervised place for Northglenn teens, instead of roaming the street's and causing trouble? Yes they can go to the Westminster, Broomfield or Thornton recreation center, but what for? Why should we pay to use other city's recreation center and pay the non-resident rates, which will cost more and help their community, or use our Northglenn Recreation center and pay the resident rate, which is not bad and help our community!
The Northglenn City Council has set a limit of $ 29 million to build a new recreation center. This price includes everything that need's to be done including design work, construction, purchase equipment and furnish a new recreation center. The money from the property tax can only be used to build the recreation center; it cannot be used for anything else per state law.
After 20 years the tax will go away. So your asking, "How much is it going to increase my property Tax?" Home Value: $150,000: tax increase of $9.86 per month or $118.37 per year $200,000:tax increase of $13.15 per month or $157.83 per year $250,000:tax increase of $16.44 per month or $197.29 per year. Well this is much cheaper then the cigarettes I buy once a month and the whole year. Seniors: Residents age 65 who qualify and have applied for the Senior Homestead exemption will pay half of the above property tax or Home Value: $150,000: $4.93 per month or $59.16 per year $2000,000: $6.78 per month or $78.92 per year $250,000: $8.22 per month or $98.65 per year. I have heard and so have you that the cost to build the new recreation center is $52.9 million.
The total repayment cost will be $52.9 million over a 20-year period and includes the interest on money borrowed to build the recreation center, now this makes more sense to me. I have not used the recreation center that much except for meetings. But if I need to use it for any kind of therapy, weight and fitness program and more, I am relieved to know that Northglenn recreation center will be there when I need it.
