HubCap: Are Coloradans "intolerant"?
Contributed by: Brendan Leonard/YourHub.com   on 11/14/2006

Since I'm a professional journalist and all, I'm not allowed to pick sides on any political issue. (Except for the Civil War: I've always been pro-Union.) Usually I just keep my mouth shut.

So, I'm not saying that since Colorado passed a ban on gay marriage and also rejected domestic partnerships, we're coming off to the rest of the nation as a state of bigots. But YourHub.com blogger Jim Syring sure is, in his latest post, " Mississippi of the West," likely to draw out some kind of a response from anyone who voted last week.

In his blog, Jim says, " We managed not only to pass a law defining marriage as only between a man and a woman, we stuck it in our constitution to make sure it glaringly makes its point with a sense of permanence about how intolerant we are."

What's your take? Make sure you're registered before you leave a comment on his blog.

A few other quotes from Jim's post:

"From what I read, most of the people who were responsible for these shameful acts belong to some narrow-minded groups that are headquartered in Colorado Springs."

" Too much of the publicity about Colorado shows us as intolerant and stupid. "

" I'm sick of these people pushing their bigoted, repressive agenda on the rest of us and making Colorado look bad."

I don't think intolerence can be tolerated (I hope you don't find my view intolerable).
