Grant to fund low-income properties Northglenn City Council has adopted a plan to use
Community Block Grant Development (CDBG) grant money for redevelopment of low-income properties.
About $140,000 of $180,000 given to Northglenn as part of CDBG will be used to revitalize rental properties.
The money will be allocated to the Northglenn
Neighborhood Development Corporation to make repairs to rental properties on roofs, driveways, plumbing, windows or other similar projects in amounts of up to $7,500 each.
As part of neighborhood redevelopment, Bill Sullivan, executive director of NNDC, said rental properties in Northglenn should receive special attention.
Current estimates drawn from water service billing show that 12 percent of the city's inhabited residencies (sic) consist of rentals 10 percent above neighboring "bedroom communities."
The other $40,000 of CDBG funding will be used through a revolving fund to bankroll owner-occupied residential improvements.
