Blog Entry 14 of 58 Northglenn Revealed

The City of Northglenn has a unique character for the North Metro Area. It seems it is always out of step with the neighbors. Sometimes ahead and sometimes not. I hope my efforts and some meaningful dialog will keep the community stable, secure and an asset to the area.

The title comes from a flyer that was delivered today by the advocacy committee supporting the permanent 162 percentincrease in the library's property tax levy.

It goes on to say, "Help keep this headline from becoming a reality." and "Vote yes on 5A to save our library."

That is the entire message and it lies by omission.

The Library Board has already publicly stated that should the tax increase pass, it intends to convert the Northglenn Branch from a library to the District's Administrative Offices. They have also stated that it is their intent to construct a 25,000 sq. foot library in Thornton on Huron St. just north of 94th avenue.

The flyer would not have been put out without the approval of the District's Board. Something for you to consider in casting your ballot.
