Blog Entry 7 of 17 Take A Bite Out Of Crime
As a child growning up durning the 60's I felt safe in my neighborhood, because all the neighbor's knew each other and watched out for each other and to keep them and there property safe and to keep the crime out of our neighborhood!!! Now these days, you dont know your Neighbor's!!!!!!! We are so busy working and staying to ourselfs that we dont want to Interact with people because of not trusting the right people!!!!!!! As home owner's we need to take a stand against crime and make it a safe place for our children to grown up in, with-out fear that they will be Kidnap in there own front yard or Join a Gang or hang around the wrong kind of people that will Introuduce them to Drug's!!!!!!!! We need to be the Eye's & Ears for our Police Department, they need help so they can help us!!!!!!!!!

Negative campaigning will get the vote's!
Contributed by: Nancy Pfaff   on 11/7/2007

I and other's do not care for Negative campaigning or speaking lie's with no proof to back them up just to get vote's. I just realized the only place where you can have a negative campaign and speak with a lying tongue and have no shred of truth to what your saying to get vote's, is here in northglenn!

I attended the open meeting on the recreation/community center on October 22 at the church on 105th & grant. Resident's of northglenn who was for and against the recreation/community center had there time to give a presentation on why or why not northglenn needs the new recreation/community center. It was going good until the residents that was for the new recreation/community center started to give there presentation on why northglenn needs the new recreation/community center when name calling's and interruptions were coming from the residents that were against the new recreation /community center.

I was shocked when Ervin Baker was one of the residents that was doing some of the name calling and was thinking, he will not get any vote's for council ward III because if he act's like this in a church then he proble will act the same way at a council meeting! Will I was wrong since resident's in ward III want people like Ervin Baker to be a member of northglenn council and don't care which way our city will go! Will election day is over and the out come was not great but at least i can look forward to reading the Hub & Sentinel with out reading any more lie's or negative campaigning.

I was at that meeting too. My chin hit the floor when when Baker said that all of the kids in Northglenn are on coke & are on birth control, & asked why we should give them a rec center to play in. I thought Northglenn was a community made of people that cared about each other. I see now that there are only a handfull of people that care about our community & the people that live in it. Those same generous people also seem to be the target for the nasty name calling & untruthful comments made by Baker and other new city council members. it seems they all want to make change by blowing up the negative issues. We can make change using positive energy. Energy where we all work together for the better of our community. People wonder why more good, honest, trustworthy people don't want to run for city council. It's because spending time on council with a bunch of head strong, narrow minded people will produce nothing positive or helpful to our community.
